In April 2002 I helped set up the Hertford & Ware Dojo and achieved my Shodan in January 2005. Nine months later I set up my own dojo, Kyokujitsu, based in my home village of Little Hadham, Herts. In May 2007 I took over as instructor at the Ware dojo and we are now all one big happy family under the 'Kyokujitsu' name! I have fought in both WUKO and knockdown tournaments and have represented England at WUKO. I have also acted as a corner judge at tournaments. I endured 'Waterfall Training' for five consecutive years and have attended numerous Winter and Summer Camps. I am currently the organisation's Licensing Officer. As a junior, I captained the Nottingham team in some interclub events, and represented the adult England team for the first time in May 1997 at the England Vs Wales Vs Scotland in Perth. In 1997, I was fortunate enough to attend the seminar in Cardiff attended by Kancho Matsui.In 2000, when I moved to University in Durham, I was lucky enough to become involved with the newly set-up Durham club, enabling me to train at home in Nottingham in the long University holidays and in Durham during term time. In January 2003, I took my shodan at winter camp on the same day that my Dad graded to nidan.  I graduated from Durham later than year, and then returned to training in Nottingham full time. Since then I have relocated again to Leicester for further studying, and commute back to Nottingham now for training. I took my nidan in January 2005, in what was a truly gruelling weekend. National Tournament wise: 2004 – British Open.  Winner.  Ladies kata.             British Open.  Runner-up.  Ladies Lightweight Knockdown. 2005 – British Open. Runner-up.
